Prof. Dr. Wolfgang G. Stock is professor and Head of the Information Science Department at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. After gaining his PhD in Düsseldorf and post-doctoral qualification (Habilitation) at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz in Austria, he worked as a university lecturer in Graz, as head of the information Centre at the ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich, as acting manager of the Information Exchange Working Group of ERECO in Brussels (Belgium) and also as Professor at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences.
His research concentrates mainly on information retrieval, knowledge representation, informetrics, and the information markets.
